I was very lucky upon passing my test and went straight into driving a 32tonne tipper! However, after 18 Months, I was given 3 months notice that my job was ending because the company I worked for had lost their contract with their customer. I decided something needed to be done. So In May 2017 & now 26 years old, I took and passed my Cat C+E(Class 1) test. I had until the end of June to find a new job. Once July had come, I had been offered 3 jobs. 2 were class 2 & The other was a class 1 job. I excepted the class 1 job and became an employee of JK Transport who operate out of the SAME yard as the one I was in when I was driving class 2 Work. Very handy!
